How do you become a member of Enchanted Mesa Show Chorus?
Every member of the chorus has joined through an audition process. We believe it's simple and fairly painless!
On your first evening with us, we determine which voice part is best for you by allowing one of our Musical Staff members listen to you sing in a private setting. When your voice part (lead, bari, tenor or bass) is determined, you will be given music and a learning tape from our repertoire and asked to learn two songs. Usually, these songs are sung during a rehearsal in preparation for regional competition. Within a couple weeks you will be ready to practice these songs by singing your part with the other three parts in a practice quartet setting. When you’re comfortable with this, you’ll be asked to sing for the director, again in a quartet. When you pass your audition, you will be given a membership application and the process continues with our Management Team recommending you for membership. The final step is the chorus voting for you to become a member of Enchanted Mesa Show Chorus. This usually takes 6 to 8 weeks. There is no financial commitment from you until this process is complete.
Through this entire process, you will be singing with the chorus, on the risers and becoming familiar with our repertoire, rehearsals and getting to know other chorus members. In this time period you have the opportunity to determine if this is something that you will find rewarding and are willing to make the time commitment too. Rehearsal Information We meet on Mondays from 7:00 – 10:00 PM at Netherwood Park Church of Christ is at Indian School, San Mateo and I-40. (Come a little early so we can meet you before the rehearsal starts!)
